What You'll Learn
Aussie Conditions
Look, if you've ever seen an old LandCruiser with a dash mat covering a canyon-sized crack, you know what we're trying to avoid here. Autumn in Australia is a killer because the sun is still high but we get lazy with the shade. This guide is for anyone who wants to keep their interior looking factory fresh without that greasy, cheap-looking shine. I've done enough interior rescues on sun-damaged daily drivers to know that five minutes of prevention is worth a grand in repairs.

Pre-Start Checklist
What You'll Need
The Step-by-Step Clean
Vacuum the Loose Grime
Use the brush attachment to suck up red dust and sand from the base of the windscreen and door pockets. Don't skip this or you'll just grind grit into the vinyl.
Dry Brush the Grain
Before adding liquid, use your detailing brush to agitate the textured vinyl. It's the best way to lift stubborn Aussie outback dust out of the pores.
Apply Cleaner to the Cloth
Don't spray directly onto the dash. Spraying the towel prevents 'overspray' from landing on the instrument cluster or the inside of your windscreen (which is a pain to clean).
Agitate and Wipe
Work in small sections using circular motions. For vents and buttons, use the toothbrush damp with cleaner to get into the crevices where skin oils build up.
Apply UV Protection
Apply your protectant (like 303) sparingly. Let it sit for a minute, then buff it off with a dry microfibre. You want a factory matte look, not a greasy 'servo special' shine.
