What You'll Learn
Aussie Conditions
Look, we’ve all seen it, that black trim on the ute turns a nasty shade of grey because the UV here is basically a blowtorch. I once spent three hours trying to 'fix' a mate's faded flares with peanut butter (don't ask, it's a rubbish internet myth) and all it did was attract ants. This guide is the real-deal method for getting that factory finish back using stuff that actually lasts.

What You'll Need
Step-By-Step Restoration
Deep Clean
Spray APC on the trim and scrub with your brush. You'll see brown gunk coming out. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Mask Up
Tape off the paint around the plastic. I learned this the hard way on a white Ranger, trim dye is a nightmare to get off clearcoat.
IPA Wipe
Give the trim a final wipe with your alcohol mix. This removes any leftover soaps so the restorer can actually bond.
Apply Restorer
Put a few drops on your applicator and work it into the plastic using overlapping circles. A little goes a long way.
Level the Product
After 1-2 minutes, lightly buff the surface with a clean microfibre to remove any high spots or greasy-looking patches.
Cure Time
Keep it dry for at least 4 hours. If it rains 10 minutes after you finish, it'll streak. Check the BOM app first!
